I recently heard about these sex dolls that some men are buying? Do you know about that? At first, I thought it was the weirdest thing ever. Then I stopped for a moment and decided to think about it logically. There are plenty of men out there who are unable to obtain adult entertainment and sex legally, and vibrators would love a way to be able to experience it without repercussions. That’s why sex dolls are such a great idea for these men.
I know this has been around for a little while now, but I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it. To me, it just seems like a sad substitute for real human contact. And while the sex doll technology is getting more and more realistic, it’s still so far away from the real thing. Don’t you think it would be lonely to have sex with one of these things? How real can it really feel?
That being said, I can understand why some people might prefer this to the old school adult entertainment route. I mean, who really wants to go to some shady store and pay for porn? With the sex dolls, there’s no risk of being caught. Plus there’s potential for embarrassed, uncomfortable feelings afterwards that come with knowing you paid for a real human body to be treated like a commodity.
This kind of got me thinking, if it wasn’t such a fantastical idea would I consider it then? After pondering for a while, I think I’d probably try it- once. I mean I’m willing to try new things! But ultimately, I feel like it just wouldn’t compare to the real thing. Sex dolls just don’t have the same soul and energy– you know?
Now let’s talk about the morality of this. I can see the plus side, but I’m not convinced this is a good idea. It’s one thing to purchase a sex toy and another thing completely to buy a piece of machinery to simulate the experience. What message does it send out? That it is okay to buy a robotic body and treat it like an object. What must it be like for the robots?
Then, what does this mean for society? How long before men get comfortable to the idea of using these things to replace genuine relationships? Is this teaching society that plastic is better than real? What kind of harm is this going to cause in the long run?
Speaking of real relationships, how would girlfriends and wives feel about this? They might feel neglected if they were to see it in play. It might make them feel like they’re competing with plastic. A lot of men might feel the same way too, I guess.
There’s a self-serving element to sex dolls too. It would be easy for people to use them as a form of emotional escapism, without having to consider might feel of the other party. What about the safety factor of sex dolls? Are buyers properly informed about the legalities of what they can do with these dolls?
At the end of the day, I don’t know if I think sex dolls are a great idea. They seem to come with more problems than solutions, but I guess it’s up to each individual to decide if this is something they would do. What do you think?
